Furuno 585 screen delaminating
Submitted by Tom M on Thu, 2017-08-24 11:44
Guys been reading some old post on FW about the FCV 585 screends delaminating around the edges 2-3 years ago, did they stop at the edges or get worse? Has this been a problem with anyone using 587 and 588 models?
Seems a shame given their reputation and market standing.

I'm not sure about furuno..
I'm not sure about furuno.. But up here in Karratha there have been a few raymarine screens that have done that. They still seem to work but you'd hate to get it wet

Mine started in a corner and
Mine started in a corner and now has almost gone all the way round the edges of the screen
doenst affect the use of it but it is concerning that moisture may be inside the unit itself

My 587 screen started
My 587 screen started de-laminating when only a few months old, was sorted under warranty but had to wait several weeks for new screen to arrive.

Seems to be an ongoing
Seems to be an ongoing problem searched a few overseas forums with same issues. While they cover under warrenty (within date) hard to give back for several weeks while this is being done.
For those that commented years ago, glad it hasn't got worse.
