Furuno 585

Thinking of upgrading to a Furuno 585 and a TM 258 transom mount 1 kw tranducer. The question i have has anyone had any experience with these tranducers good or bad?Quite a large tranducer to have hanging off the back.

The TM258 tranny off the back
The TM258 tranny off the back is not an issue, sits well and doesn't throw a rooster tail. I have one on a sliding transom mount.

We've sold a few of the same combo setups and no worrys our clients have been happy. They read and work well but just make sure you follow correctly the tranny mounting as thats critical.
