If you only fish 20-30m only

If you only fish 20-30m only just stick with the 600w.  With the old navman 5600 and a 600w tranny in the old boat, I could get a super solid picture in 30m at 34knots!

money

if money is no issue then get the one kilo watt i beleive imo i have had both transducers and the one kilowatt gives more defined bottom readings than the 600 watt! i have a 585 which i started with the 600 watt and went to a 1kw and i would never go back! doesnt matter what depth the reading is crisper and clearer!! imo go the 1kw!

Go the 1kw that way your covered if you head to a new fishing spot. Say like Portland for SBT or up the NSW northern coast chasing billfish.  Do it right the first time.
