Interesting tho the Dhu's have not been real big between 55-70cm, but pretty big pinky's and thumping badlies, one on Sunday went the best part of 70cm and the biggest I've seen.
Running a 1kw through hull transducer, and yep a great unit. Only downside I hve is my transducer is not right at the back of the bost it's about 1/3 of the way up, and in very choppy conditions I get a little interference. Other than that all good
Been out to the 500's and can read the bottom, just have to do 3-4 knots to get a good vis
I wanted to step up from the standard p66 that came with the 587 to a 1kw unit. Planned to go through-hull to get clean(er) water over the face. Have ended up having to go TM due to space/location challenges. It's just been installed (Christmas pressie from me to me!) so have yet to prove it's capability.
Johnf has a couple of good comments/advise on this if you track him down.

A few annoying Sambos too, 15-20 kilo mark.
