What a top evening! Very

Fri, 2011-11-18 12:12

What a top evening!

Very informative information - especially the life cycle and anatomy of a squid by Paul - top work.

Many thanks to the Gancraft crew for their time and effort into the presentation - great to meet you.

Plenty of new stuff learnt and now to put it into practice.

Thanks for hosting the night Ryan.

Hope the Gancraft crew get into some good beers tonight (told them the right ones).  They had been drinking swan draught and I could tell that they were being polite about it being crap!

Cheers Pete

Very educational night indeed and I learnt a shit load about the way Gancraft jigs work, the unique action and techniques that these guys have mastered (no wonder they took out the Squid comp in the East just recently.....very swicthed on)

Paul was great (funny bugger)........theres not much he doesnt know about squid and the DVD footage awesome insight...........thanks!

Finally, meeting the Gancraft Team and inparticular meeting and spending time with the world famous founder, creator and President of Gancraft -Takanori Hiraiwa

Was a great night out

Fri, 2011-11-18 18:45

Was a great night out learning a few more things about squid and squidding.  A big thanks to Ryan, Paul and the Gancraft guys for coming out and giving the talk.

I found it interesting that they use such a heavy line class. Those rods are amazing, great sensitivity aswell as being strong as, if only i had the money hahaha.

Good on them for coming out and going in the comp showing people that the egi thing isnt just a simple process. It was their first time squidding in Australia and they flogged the other teams. There good at what they do.

Thanks again boys.

Heavy line class is right, up

Fri, 2011-11-18 18:52

Heavy line class is right, up to 8 meters of 14lb flurocarbon was mentioned, a good way to stop  loseing expensive squid jigs.

Like the Breaden guys that come out from Japan these guys said it was very important the egi hits the bottom before you lift it and jerk it, something i never do,,
