genisi amberjack special

hey guys first post for me on here,

ust curious as to whether anybody has ever used a genisis amberjack special jig rod? i have the chance to grab one for around a hundred bucks, just wondering if its worth it, and what sorta reel does anybody reccomend to suit it?

Hi,
Genesis a.jack special is not a bad rod, especially for $100. It is rated to PE7 but can usually run 80lb without a problem. A few of my friends have used it for jigging Samsonfish

If cost is an issue, look at maybe a Spheros reel to match. They aren't top of the wazza but they are tough and reliable. I have one on my Uglystick jig rod.

At a hundred bucks all i can say is grab it. If it's still in good condition you can be sure to sell it for more any time. These rods if i remembered correctly used to cost about SG$400-500 a few years ago.
