Sunday Jigging
So headed out on Blue Juice today for my first jigging trip of the the season.
The ocean was fairly sloppy to start with and after adding a bit of my own burley due to seasickness we arrived at our first spot which supprisingly was in only 40mtres of water. The skipper said there ahd been some schooling up around the area and today was no different. It only took about 2 drops to get smashed and it was on with about 5 or 6 of us all getting a solid arm stretching. Its great not to have to pull them out of 110mtres!
We spent the rest of the day just going back over the school and they were fairly thick and not real picky with everyone getting in on the action.
One of the deckies was very inventive and tried the Barbie jig(which apparenty has worked before)
i even maganged to snap one of my rods..which i was not too proud of..wont name the brand(unless i dont get a new one on warranty)
I Still managed to land the fish though which was a solid sambo so it was still worth the sacrifice..
t was a great Day and so stoked to finally experience the action that i have spent so much time reading about.
Cant wait for another crack as soon as my arms recover..

Good report and pics there Chris
Some great fish too. It is great to be able to jig up some sambos in 40 metres. Would love to see the Barbie jig get hit.

What sought of action does
What sought of action does Barbie produce?
Is she a slider, a butterfly or just plain old vertical?
Exciting entertaiment no doubt.

when they are on
as long as it's heavy enough to get down to them, they'll hit it. I watched Hon-Su and his brother catch them with an adjustable wrench FFS.
