Get together

As a relative newbie to fishwrecked this may already happen i dont know but, Just thinking aloud here people, maybe admin should organise a get together one weekend where fishwrecked members can meet at a venue with a BBQ and brews?. Possibly with a cover charge, or a pre paid ticket system (to benefit a charity). Where we all go by user names maybe, if that's what people want, swap stories, sell gear, generally have fun. I say "a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet!".
Your thoughts on this would be great. What do ya think?

I would have to say, after 260 reads and no comments, that this is why it's an online forum and not a fishing club that we are a part of. People aren't that interested in getting together. We voice our opinion through the keyboard and spend our spare time fishing or preparing for it.
Your concept is good though.

sounds like a good idea..i know its an online forum but why cant people get together if they want. no one is being forced to attend. keep pushing the idea..id love to make it but im not based in perth. good luck.

and continue to keep in touch with them.
as for most of my mates... there not that keen on heading deep and if it wernt for my boys i would always be chasing deckies.
its great to have/know people with the same passion and are as keen as i am to get in the boat when ever possible.
the drink driving is the biggest issue and a bbq's not the same without a few.
