Getting into spearfishing - Dampier

Hi all,

I'm pretty keen to get in a and give spearing a go.

I've picked up a second hand Seacsub Xtreame 95 that should get me started but I'm after any general tips, tricks or info.

Also After doing a bit of research I see Adreano have the Rob Allen Tuna rail guns on for a bit of a deal. $400 down from $600.

Would the 110 be any good for in around the reefs chasing trout and blue bones.

I'm going to need a second gun anyway down the track when my brother moves back up so are these any good / suited for what i want to do?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers Nath

I have a Ron Allen 1.1 and it's awesome perfect mix of distance and manouvarability for queenies, grouper ect down south in the reefs. I will be going double rubber soon just for that bit extra power on big fish but other than that not a problem.

Cheers for the tips guys

Unfortunately I'm working tomorrow. I'm free weekends though if your / anyone is ever chasing a deckie or skipper.

I go most weekends (fishing normally but now keen for a spear) so anyone let us know and I'll see if I'm free or if there is a free seat.

Cheers Nath

Took the boat for a quick spin just then (bottom of tide) and it was dirty as around west lewis, might be different on the high.  (just for anyone looking to head out up here)
