GI squidly didly
I had to be home from cervantes by sunday for dinner at the inlaws, so with the boat still hooked up, i gave juica the call to be at my place monday morning for a cockburn squid.
hit the water by 7.30 and straight to parmelia bank / woodies point, where we got 3 tiddlers in an hour and a half. made the call to go look for new ground, and headed to southern end of garden island, where the northerly drift was blowing us perfectly along the bank, towards the barracks on gi.
thats where the fun began!! about 3 metres of water, and the big winter squid were on!!! scored 14 absolute horses, with tubes to 36cms in about an hour! they were actually peeling line off our 1000 reels like they were spanish mackeral. orange jigs did the damage, but suprisingly, a dark green yozuri also did pretty well, but only when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.
back at the ramp by 10.45, boat cleaned by 11.30, beer and fresh squid on the barby by preceisly 12pm. what a way to end the long weekend!!

nice squid scotto we were out yesterday got 1 pretty sad maybe i need to upgrade from my $2 squid jigs which stilll fire on some days any ways does any one no what the bag limit is for squidlys ???? or is there a limit on squid?????

Diff, Squid, cuttlefish and octopus all species combined there is a bag limit of 15 with a boat limit of 30. Grab yourself the latest Fisheries Guides. We have the Feb 2010 guides with latest sticker ruler.
