Gimbal for spin

What kinda of gimbal/belt do you use for jigging with your spin gear?

Cup or pin?

What gimbal you have at the base of your rod!

Most of my jig sticks have gimbals so yes i use the pin when needed

Yeh really depends on

Yeh really depends on whether your rod has a gimbal or not.

Most heavy (24kg and over) spin rods have gimbals, so therfore you get one with a pin.

Yeah, though alot of spin

Yeah, though alot of spin rods seem to come with butt caps aswell to give you both options.

I can see advantages if you use an overhead as the pin helps stop rotation of the rod.

It seems for popping most people seem to prefer rods without gimbals and use cup faced belts.

Gidday mate

I use a jigging master gt gimbal and harness for all of my landbased spinning and popper fishing, they are very small and light and dont get in the way when fishing. The other good thing is that they come in a good range of colours aswell.

Tennis Ball

Sun, 2009-11-29 16:11

Hello.I've been spin fishing/ballooning for nearly twenty years and have got just about every type of gimbal belt but these days i just prefer to cut a hole out of a tennis ball and shove the rod gimbal directly into the ball during a fight. The main advantage is the lightness/effectiveness and manouverability. Ray
