Mate, I had a baltic 4.65
Mate, I had a baltic 4.65 open fibreglass dinghy, German made, it actually had a round hull, performed really well for a dinghy, I use to take it out to the 30 mtr Mark behind garden island, also required very little horsepower to get on the plane and could run all day on one tank. Also nice comfortable ride from the fibreglass, must say it was a different boat to what most west Aussies go for, the shape was more like a lifeboat then our traditional deep v. Wish I had not sold it actually as it was a good versatile boat that was light and easy to tow, definetly recomend one, that is you can find one. At the time I paid $6000 grand for it and it was only 2 years old, motor was a tohatsu 25 with restrictor removed, was older then the boat though.
good luck in finding the right boat.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

I've got a 4.2m Blue Fin
I've got a 4.2m Blue Fin Rouge, was really good value at the time came with a few free upgrades, full carpeted deck, front storage/casting deck, anchor well, welded side decks.
Pretty happy with it so far, it's very easy to launch/retrieve alone, does 25knt with 40hp 2stroke.

4.75 Sea jay
Is what I have, with an injected 50 Yamaha elec start with power trim and tilt. I did have a 4.2 savage kestrel wide bdy, but wanted something a bit bigger, of which the sea jay is. At only half a meter longer, it comes 300mm deeper, and 300mm wider than the 4.2m dinghys.
Ive spent a bit extra on it and had gunnels and sides welded on, and it was well worth the money spent. Made a splash proof box and fitted AM/FM stereo and VHF, with a gang of switches. Ive taken it to gnaraloo and it was farkin mint. No probs beach launching at all, regularly dive 2-3 guys with 2 tanks each, or fish 3 pretty easily.
Mega happy I went a bigger style tinny. The versatility is unreal. Elec start is a good feature, and power trim & tilt is almost a necessity.

weights
donk weighs 97kg, boat weighs just under 300kg. chuck in an extra 100kgs for fuel and gear = total 500kgs. trailer weighs probably around 200-250kgs max, so boat, motor and trailer would be MAX 750kg.
I know my 3L turbo hilux doesn't know its there when I tow it on the road, and tows it really well on soft sand when beach launching.

We used to have the stesssco
We used to have the stesssco 429 catcher and it was briliant. It was powered bya 30hp yammie 2banga and was great I wouldnt want anything less. I would take it out behind three mile and always felt safe. When we were looking we looked at the horizon and also the bluefin(i think it was the ones that dinghy world sell) we liked the extra beam and the welds seemed a bit better. if you have any questions PM me
Cheers

+1 For Sea Jay
Got the smaller version 3.95 angler. Very beamy with plenty of depth in the hull. Put a floor in it bow and stern rails, access platform and a single rung ladder. Easy for beach launching with out the trailer if there is a decent shore break. Tough as nails with a 25 Merc 2 stroke.

Im currently running a
Im currently running a Bullet Boat, 4.85 Magnum Hull. has a 70hp Yamaha 4 stroke tiller on it, 90ltr inbult fuel tank, kill tank front storage. also run a craypot winch and tipper off it. The hull is of jackman design with large reverse chines. It handles really well but I think more horse power is needed, havent had the chance to give it a crack in a stong SWer'ly since having it repropped though
