Going for a bullshark session, any tips?

I'm going down to my local spot to target some bullshark for the first time.

It's quite far upstream but I know they're likely to be there as people have caught them close by before and there seems to be lots of mullet and boney herring around.

I don't wanna be targeting monsters, I know it's probably going to be a challenge with 10lb mono (got some trace at least) but would boney herring be the best choice of bait? And if you got any tips, please share them, thanks.

I saw something that looked like a frozen block of blood in the freezer at the tackle shop last time i was in there...maybe tie that to a float and send it out infront of you or just drop it at your feet and let it do its work. Maybe something a little bigger than 10lb and a good wire trace also haha.
