Good buy for some one

There is a good boat up for grabs at Ross's auctions this Saturday number 1 on the list. I don't know what make of boat it is but it certainly seems to have all the fruit.
Just a guess but seeing as it's going at the police auction I'm wondering if it is one of the boats that fisheries grabbed last year for interfering with other peoples cray pots.
I think there will be some grating of teeth when it goes under the hammer no matter who used to own it.

Gold star by the looks. You would hope its been confiscated for pulling pots and not the boss of some bikies that took great offence at his boat being confiscated.

i've been to those police stolen & recovered auctions before
not sure of how "cheap" that boat will go for. Last auction I went to, they were selling old crap bundles of mobile phones that were stolen and recovered, for the same money as what you could buy a new I phone!
some people just get caught up in the moment and keep raising their hand, without realising the actual real world value of what they are bidding on.
it is a descent ali boat by the looks, however someone will likely end up paying a high figure for a boat they "think they want", when instead they could have paid the same money for a boat more to what they "actually want" in the first place (if that makes sense)

Just one more bid dear!
Yep scanos on it , I have been doing the auctions for years , and it would curl your hair to see the prices people pay , dead set i have seen people pay ABOVE new price for 2nd hand, I mean cmon , more dough than brains?
I got my near new, good cond canam 800 from the auctions , it took 2 years of looking , and biddding, and wasting time at endless auctions watching crap old bikes used for weed spraying or ex council beaten up stuff go for more than the same bike would ever go for on gumtree.
Buyer beware.

I agree with you scano
I think at these auctions peoples egos get the better of them like "I'm not going to be beaten " and want becomes I must have.

Don't forget you'll then
Don't forget you'll then have to pay a further 10% of that high figure to Ross's Auctions and suddenly it's not such a great deal

I've seen it too, rarely that good a deal. Although sometimes those onsite liquidation auctions aren't bad...

A few year ago I bought a charger for about half what the market rate was. Bloke was in jail and his mrs needed the money. Was waiting for the day he pulled up alongside and wanted a few more grand.

Yes there is. The hammer
Yes there is. The hammer price is excluding gst unless it is stated in the advertisement. All the my purchases have been excluding gst then the buyers premium on top so depending on what the buyers premium is you could be adding 20% to the hammer price.

Now that is a steal, I thought it would be in the high 80ks or so. Some one really got a good buy. Even adding on the 10%. Do you know how much the black Holden with only 6k on the clock went for.

10 years
It was confiscated 10 years ago. No maintenance, no grease, no servicing for that long would render the motor iffy at best. There is a lot of corrosion visible from exposed ally and under the engine cover as well. May not seem like a bargain once they get into it.
I went to a pickles auction a few years ago and a 5m fibreglass boat that had the front cleat ripped out in a storm, had rolled around on rocks for a while and the engine had more water than oil went for over $30k. Auction prices for some can get very out of hand in the heat of the moment.

Certainly looks a good buy
Keeping in mind what zoom has said I presume that the buyer would have run a careful eye over it to see just what he is buying. Wouldn't it be interesting to run into the previous owner at the ramp.
