Give it a few more weeks and they will be around in numbers mate! Try using fizzers and poppers right on night fall once it warms up, also casting small hard bodies around seem to work well! They will fire once the water warms up mate, im expecting a very big year!

Is low tide any good? Im aiming to pull one from cape preston this year, and can only really walk along the local creek's edge at low.

fork out for a cheap tinnie and you will have a much better chance, can definitely get them landbased but a lot more limited options.

Yep, low tide is ya best
Yep, low tide is ya best option. Find a deep gutter in a creek, preferably with a few rocks in it.
Barra are very special here, quite hard to find them. A lot of visitors will kill every fish they can, which doesnt leave many, especially when u consider the creeks are only 2 -3 kms long and mostly shallow. I suggest if you do get one, let him go. If you are desperate for a feed, the reef fish or even salmon are much better eating and so much easier to find. Good luck!

Yeah good info there
Letting them go is the best one comming from Darwin you would be used to that ethic any way, very similar to darwin fishing just shallower and no crocs.
You should do well.
