A good sound Yakking..
Submitted by Albee Mangles on Sat, 2008-08-16 13:47
Went out for a Yak this morning, early, picked up a good sized Pink on a hardbody lure, after just dropping one at the boat identical the first run. I spat, grumbled and cursed my way back up and retrolled the same run, an hit this one, same spot, same lure, next run. Good fight on 10lb line, Banax i1600, Nitro Distance Spin.
Had 8 yaks out on the water, Jutto picked up his on a mulie, sister fish to mine. Great Morning, if not a little choppy, nice headwind on the way home. Thankgod for pedals!

Nice catch and a good size
Nice catch and a good size too. I'm guessing you were trolling a deep diving lure behind the kayak, or were you casting and retreiving?

We headed out around 5 am
We headed out around 5 am the Easterly was really helping us get out there,i stayed around 2-3 hours but i like my comforts and headed in due to the slop and swell,,,one fellow got a 60 cm Snapper by casting his lure out, jutto pictured above was at anchore and Albee's the local trolling guru, with the very slow speeds of a yak ideal for slow trolling for Pinkys, no reports from the other 4 yet,,,,maybe they are still out there battling sharks and easterlys
P.S i think Albee favours the Prediteck viper lures, but he will comfirm or deny later.
