Gopro head mount or chest mount?

Heading up to quobba next week and I've borrowed a gopro from my mate. Ideally I would of practiced with the gopro before heading up but unfortunately I wasn't that organised.

What are your preferences for capturing the excitement on your gopro?  Chest mount or head mount? And what are the pros/cons?

Thanks in advance

I use head mount often, don't put that much effort into it though. That said, if I had a chest mount I might use it.

I have both and much rather prefer the chest mount for land based fishing .

The shot is a lot more stable , very comfortable to wear and you get to wear a decent hat .

I struggled trying to wear a hat ( wide brim ) and get the correct angle with the head strap - was either to low and caught the brim or slightly to high when the fish was around your feet . Worst off , the headaches after wearing it for hours on end.

The head strap has its place tho , but for me the chest strap is the better option .

I use both

I use both at quobba but mainly the head strap mainly because I fish with 3 others and if they hook up I can capture it. A lot easier to turn my head than whole body. Also good when leaning over the edge (Garths) and gaffing.

Just need to ge the angle right. I find slightly forward works best

How many batteries do you have - I have 3, take 2 whilst the last one used is charging

Have a great trip

I've got both, and I definitely prefer the chest strap for most uses! heaps steadier than the head mount I've found gets better footage

Much the same as earlier

Much the same as earlier comments, I have had the gopro on my head a few times. Video gives you great perspective though isn't too steady + you cannot wear a hat.

My old man bolted a mount to his cap, which although looking a bit agricultural, does the trick...

 I love my GoPro, kayak

I love my GoPro, kayak fishing I go head mount because you can't swivel your whole body around to capture footage but I reckon is you are catching the fish, the chest mount gets lots more of the action. Sometimes I even use my suction cup mount, but you might not have access to one? The suction cup shows everyone fishing and if someone hooks up they can move towards the camera, showing a nice IFish view

thanks,

lachie
