GPS Question
Submitted by claymore on Fri, 2011-11-11 10:40
hopefully i can explain my question well enough someone understands me.
i have a lowrance HDS elite 5 and a navionics chart underlay and i like to have the screen zoomed in on the chart for greater detail.
is there an option where the screen keeps my boat in the middle and the chart moves so i don't have to move the screen with the cursors all the time to see my position?
thanks for any help

as carry said
whenever you are not central (ie if youve moved the cursor to look at something) hold esc and it will centralize ythe boat icon and then the map will move from then on. cheers

Sure is
you need to go away from the curser being up, by doing this use the + or - bottons on the right hand top corner of the unit. To get away from the curser being up press menu/return to vessell/enter.
Its a little late to head home early

I have the Elite 5 DSI, and from memory you press menu - then enter as it should be highlighting return to vessel.
Hope it works for you.

Mate it's as simple as
Mate it's as simple as pressing the exit button.
If you want to have a 'moving' screen where the map will move with you and keep you central make sure there is no cursor on the page (pressing the exit button will do this). If you want the map to stay still and your position to move across it put the cursor on the page - press the arrows that will do it (once you figure it out you will know what I mean)
