What website are you looking at Matt?
Willy suggests ENE 7kn dropping to 3.5kn by the afternoon which would be perfect.

Yep,
agree with you there black gen. I've learnt not to trust Willyweather down here myself. Always forecast the lightest winds of all the computer generated online forecasters and the actual winds are regularly stronger.
Seabreeze is saying N-NE 10-15kn saturday and N 10-15kn Sun, Windfinder says the same and funnily enough BOM's wind chart says the same, with even a suggestion of NW for sunday.
Make your own mind up about that

10-15knots
sounds fine whats wrong with you matty? becoming a fair weather fisherman! only fished there a couple of times but there is plenty of ground fairly close to the bay as it drops to thirty metres fairly quickly! if you head striaght out i done pretty well in 50 metres
ALL FISHERMEN ARE LIARS EXCEPT YOU AND ME! AND IM NOT SO SURE ABOUT YOU!

Nah,
hardly fair weather but it's always nice
Your right about 10knts but 15 starts getting interesting and 20 is just horrid especially the dreaded Northerly.
Still a long way to go before the weekend so i'm sure the forecast will change 25 times.
Start worrying about it Friday

Winds looking ok at moment.
Winds looking ok at moment. Have to wait and see... Still trying to decide weather to take the boat down. Folks have had a holiday house and been taking us down there forever but I've never been boat fishing down there. Dean from legend charters posts got me excited!!

not heading down there this
not heading down there this weekend, but i do spend alot of my weekend time in gracetown. Next time your down there give me a message as there's a good chance i'm there. I'll give you some pointers.
Also, just watch when your launching you boat down there. Some rocks just out from the ramp ... with high tides its no problem (i.e. this time of year), but on the low tides it can draw pretty dry sometimes when you come back in ... had a few nasty surprises :) 24ft boat in fibreglass needs some caution.
One pointer ... if you have a decent sounder use it. There are plenty of nice fish not that far out of the bay that you can spot & drop on with the sounder. BEtter than drifting aimlessly. If you go N/NW just watch cow bombie reef ... very dangerous. I don't turn off my motors if i drift through that area :) Hope this helps.

wind looks good in Gracetown
wind looks good in Gracetown this weekend but with the swell 2.5+m on Saturday I would highly recommend staying away from the Bombie which is a few nm NW from the bay. It should show up on your map, but the electronic maps I found does not pin point it exactly so i would stay at least 1.5km away from the area in general on that swell. It will break every now and then at that swell. Let me know how you go. You can also troll the back of the reefs for some pelagics ... can be quite productive.

steve
to be honest in a boat that size the wind wont be your problem @10-15 knots even from the n/east ....just go n/east to fish , id be more concerned about the swell mate , at a forecast 2+ metres on both satdy & sunday on seabreeze it will probably be pretty surgey at the ramp in Cowaramup bay , winter it is even more so all the time even on low swell days ,
if you have got 2 other good blokes with you handling a heavy glass boat your size at that ramp will be doable , but keep sharp about it , or you will have fun even with the finger jetty there

If your
down here hopefully you had a look at the ocean this afternoon. The swell is BIG, not many surf breaks were actually surfable on the SW coast today.
Be bloody careful at whichever ramp you choose. All ramps on the west coast (Canals, Gracetown, Hamelin) suffer heavily from surge so bare that in mind.
Good luck.
