im start to think along the lines that the dockers supporters are going to be louder then hawthorn tomorrow........
Just experiencing a few hawthorn games this year in Melbourne, was pretty shocked at the atmosphere of games...and got talking to Melbourne people regarding this subject and most seem to agree.....
it would be embarrassing to Victorian football if this happens....and I think it will.
one eyed west coast supporter turned purple for a day.
and I dont give shit how many WCE supporters have a whinge, anything to shove it up the vics, and to be honest its pretty crazy around perth!!!!

First, but despite some that rate the Dockers last, they are my second team. Unless they are playing the Eagles I am Freo aswell. BUT not on Derby days. (Havent done to well lately!!!!

Tomorrow I will be sitting in the Dunno Pub cheering as hard as any Docker supporter. But just can get my brain around wearing the Purple.
Go the Dockers. And yes anything to beat the Vics, especially Collingwood and the dreaded Hawks.

Dockers to win by a kick, Mundy for Norm Smith but a hard fought battle with the best attacking team in the country, the Purple Army has already amde itself known and if they bring that passion as much as they did last weekend at Subi the hair on the back of everyone's neck will be standing on end, i'll never forget those freo chants after that night!

Starved of success because the Dockers were treated like shit by the AFL in our early years....which club in history has begged the public for money to start the club we got nothing from the AFL so no wonder it was a struggle. Take a look at PA deal after entering the AFL.
And no if it was a WCE and a Vic team I wouldn't support any of them. Don't matter as I am going to enjoy the Dockers smashing the Weak Coast W33girls for many years to come. The only depth WCE has is shit....

There is only one team...
I don't buy into the second team or supporting WA bull****. The term used I believe is a turncoat. I'm an Eagles supporter through and through and therefore couldn't give a rats bottom who wins tomorrow. If the muppets win, I'll be happy to see Pav lift a cup as he is one fella who truly deserves it. If the Hawks win, well there is no more 'unfinished business' and it frees up Clarko/Simpson as potential coaching candidates.
I will add, I believe the muppets will win and said to the wife a few weeks ago that if they knocked off the Cats they would go all the way. That said, if they lose, it's a long flight/drive home and a very bitter feeling - us WC fans know, we've been there.
One last thing - how many Dockers fans on here got behind the Eagles in 05/06 - or during any of their other finals campaigns? Not many I'd guess....

I helped Swan Districts in the early 80s with some advise regarding how Rugby players approach a tackle compared with footy players. Made some friends and played touch Rugby with a few SD players. Eventually some off these boys made the original Eagles. So I supported them despite being a Rugby Union fanatic and learned to love the game.
Now it just happen to be the case that I knew a few original Dockers through circles. Should I support the boys or "hate" them as the other team. I supported them and I am happy with that. But diehard Eagle I stay.
Just because Freo has whipped our arses this year doesnt mean that I now am a turncoat for wishing them the best tomorrow. If and when the Eagles are there and we play each other then see who is a turncoat. I would black and blue scream the eagles on, and stuff the Dockers. But the Eagles arent, so do not call me a turncoat for supporting my second favourite team. I would have Freo win the flag every year ahead of Victorian Clubs if the Eagles arent in the hunt (which we will be again)

Only the WAFL represents WA at grass roots level.
The Eagles in some ways represent WA - as the first WA 'national' team. The Dockers....well they represent Fremantle, of course. :-p

No second favourite team for me. The only team I like is West Coast. I don't barrack for anyone else.
I do dislike others at different levels though, just depends on circumstances. The Bombers and the Pies are probably my most disliked currently.
Just to be clear, in my eyes there is a huge difference between wishing the team the best and jumping on the bandwagon, donning purple colours, etc - they are the turncoats in my book. Was not intended as a personal attack - but certainly seems you took it that way.

Took my kids to freo about lunch today for a walk around freo to see what all the hype is about. As I got to the end of south st and turned into the Main Street, you can feel the excitement that this team has brought into this small place. Buildings were heavily decorated, people wearing purple everywhere and it was great buzz just being there walking around with my kids.

The Dockers history at the MCG makes for interesting reading. They've won there just 12 times in 41 attempts.
The Dockers have lost seven of their last eight to Hawthorn.
The Dockers have only beaten Hawthorn seven times in 19 seasons in the AFL
In 47 games under Lyon the Dockers have conceded just 73 points per match.
In 45 matches against all opponents other than Hawthorn that average drops to 71.
In two matches against Hawthorn, both at Aurora Stadium, the Dockers have conceded 119 and 118 points.

And what happened?
History has no relevance to the present.

I agree, forget history. Swans had a bad record at the G last year but still won, they ended a bad record against the Pies in Sydney while they were at it.
GF's are the great leveler. Anything can happen.
As for yesterday, I suppose that was inevitable with Freo making the big one, with thousands storming across the border and just shouting the place down, plus neutrals getting on board the Docker train. That's cool...should we prevail, the anti-Hawks sentiment will make it all the sweeter. Go Hawks!
