Hi pal we were also out there managed 16 squid with a bag of  3200 grams, we had slow morn I'm not asking for exact spots just wondering what depth worked for you guys and what colours worked for you guys today? I must have tried 20 different jigs today and none really stood out! Anyways congratulations on your wins and a great bag! Ads

Thanks for been so honest on here! And for the masters secrets! I googled those duo jigs and they deff look the goods I wish I had that info before I spent a cpl hundred on every bloody colour known to man! I'd be interested in picking up some tips if you ever have an empty deckie spot! I'm only 5 mins from woodies and happy to supply beer lol. We were in the big blue ramco struggled to find size and numbers today in those conditions. Once again thanks for the tips and congrats to team swifty on the well deserved win! Adam

 Tried the duo jig yesterday

Sun, 2013-08-04 07:00

Tried the duo jig yesterday in the deeper water for the first time. It took awhile to get use to it,but once I got the depth sorted out(ie jig not fouling on the weed) I started catching them.

Not big ones like you guys got in the Classic-but I'll keep trying.

Yes it was a great Event.

Mon, 2013-07-29 07:03

Yes it was a great Event. You guys did really well.

It was my first time and I struggled with the condition. When I was standing in the line to get my " small miserable" catch weighed in,I couldn't believe the size of some of the squid.

I have never seen squid that big caught in the metro area. It opened my eyes up,the single largest squid category caught, was heavy that my total bag.

Thanks goes to the organizers, and I'll be back for the next one.

Congrats, saw the article the other day and wondered if it was someone from fishwrecked. Hey in the picture it looks like ur son has a big ass snap swivel attached to the jig? People always talk about using super invisible, long flouro leader and no clips etc so as not to spook the squid.

i have heard the same ,about snap locks ,to be honest wouldnt have a clue ,one thing i do know ,i hate fluro carbon, prick to tie not t as strong as normal line,(only my opionion) .fluro carbon stands out like dog cr-p in 30 to 40 meters of water (i have taken all types off line down deep when i go for crays(diving) .mono flex clear best by a mile (only through my eyes) whiplash pro green hardly see .its what you feel comfy with .hard to explain ,if you are confident with what you are using ,also confident with bait ,lures jigs you will do well .iam no expert by any means in any feild ,but i know what i trust. and like,,duo for squid ,whiplash for dhues .i always use clear line (mono flex) for all my shock leaders .try for yourself normal knot. what you use  (mono or fluro carbon ) put under fluro light .see wich one has cracks going through line , i have always said many many good products out there .its what you are comfy with.snap locks will never effect catch rate ,

haha yeh I just thought its funny, as some people will swear black and blue that when squidding you absolutely cant let them see ur line or a snap lock etc because they have super eyes and get spooked easily, etc etc.

 Yeh nothing wrong with doing

Sun, 2013-08-04 21:12

Yeh nothing wrong with doing that mate might step mine up as well, lost 4 so far, good mate lost 5-6 we keep buying cause we know it dominates others when you want those big ones, always a moment of silence when one is lost....squid rods are awesome can be used for all things, personally use a samurai reaction egi 7'6 for all light SP work extremely sensitive.
