Gummy sharks

Guys im super keen on getting a gummy but not having much luck...
Normally use 2 snelled hooks with a running sinker to suit. Bait wise i have been using squid, mullet, tailor fillets, herring..
Is there anything im missing?
Where in metro area do they hang around? i been fishing NOR but will travel south if there are some beter spots down that way?
