There was herring on the reef

There was herring on the reef just out from the exit when I was casting for tailor yesterday, Iv been gettn good skips and flattys close to the marina off shore. The last time I fished there (before I got the tinny) I got plenty of hezzas and some skips fishing the wall where boyinaboat reef is. Burley the crap outa your fishin spot, handfull bombs of premixed, chopped up mulies anything will get the fish to you and keep them around, and for fun, throw some burley at ur feet and see if any buff bream cum up for it, heard they are great fighting, Im yet to get one, prob a small unweighted circle hook on fluro with bit of bread crust perhaps thrown in with the burley. Been some fish caught inside too lately, tailor, whiting at night.

Buffies are great fun to catch when nothing else is around. i use a dough mix, consisting of dry pollard and equal parts flour and water. small batches are best to make, because it gets frustrating with bigt batches. real good fun on the bream gear.

they should be around en masse with the gardies like every other year, this time of year. even a certain jetty south has very few attendees.
