Was the pic taken from the top of the Stanley Nut? When visiting there I chatted with the lass operating the chairlift about things dropped while going up and down, promptly nearly lost a thong half way up with it dangling off one toe.
When sailing a trawler over from Auckland via Eden to Fremantle we got a right belting coming across the Tasman sea and after refuelling at Eden had a 40knot northeaster for the run down to Wilson's Prom and Bass strait was like the pic, mirror flat for the next 2 days
Had the absolute pleasure to eat dinner at Herseys Seafood (from Aussi Lobster Men ) tonight, crayfish salad, tassie scallops, pepperberry salt and pepper squid and fresh gummy. Great to see a fishing family cutting out the middle men, wholesalers etc and providing direct to the public. More power to them, could not fault the meals and despite it being a Monday evening the place was deservedly packed.
Far west coast of Tasmania and was utterly glassed off and the swell was less than a metre. Now stuck in Ouse.....literally......bloody MG hire car decided to lock up a rear disc so going no where. Now I know why when I thought of buying one I elected to go up maket

I went down and played golf
I went down and played golf at Barnbougle 3 years in a row in August.
The idea sounds crazy but only once did we have to wait out a light shower.
I saw bass straight mirror glassy although over cast.
Great course, if I was going again I'd take a punt on the winter weather and avoid the crowds.
Bloody good place is Tas!
