Do you need the Lss2 box to run a structure scan transducer on a HDS7 gen2 unit?

Pretty sure you don't need the hub. Only need the hub if you run out of plugs on head unit or want multiple units connected together.

If its a gen 1 hds7 you will need the box, pretty sure gen 2 onwards it will plug straight in

Sea-Kem and gillyL are right, no separate box needed. The LSS transducer plugs into a separate socket too so unless you have multiple structure scan transducers you will be ok.

The structure scan transducer is only plug in on the touch series.
For the Gen 2 with buttons you will need the black box.

Correct gen 1 and 2 are the same - require LSS box. Touch series have it inbuilt so not needed

yep, only touch screen will work without the box.
I got one in melbourne for $450 to run side scan on my new barra boat
