Heading down to Walpole next week: Any Crabbing reports?
Submitted by Moking on Thu, 2018-01-25 15:24
Looking forward to a few days fishing down at Walpole- love the rivermouth and estuary fishing down there. Got plenty of squid for bait,so I'm hoping the whiting are on the bite!
But has anyone come back from there recently, and have any latest updates with drop nets for crabs? Thanks.
Cheers.

Quiet
Was down at Chrissy. Very quiet on the crab front out Walpole, to the point of dont waste your time. Some good whiting around though.

I was also wondering with all the rain last week, whether it would be a waste of time.
Maybe only take a couple of drop nets, and drop them in on the way to the whiting.

Might be worth chucking out
Might be worth chucking out a bait at night near some channels. Landed a couple shovelnose and a gummy shark when we were down. Will have to fish through the eagle rays to get them though.
