Welcome to Mandurah and welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful hints and advice here.

The first question to ask is, what sort of fishing are you interested in, out from Dawesville? If you're looking for a feed of skippy and herring, anchor near the 3 mile and berley up. If you're looking to fish out wide, I'd suggest you get some charts of the water out to the west and head out and sound around the areas that show promise on the charts.

There's also tailor in the Cut and I've seen boats trawling near the mouth in the evening...not a bad way to spend a few hours. There's also crabs in the estuary, but please don't drop your nets in the ski zone....I hate it when people do that

It can be a bit 'hit and miss' but there's also ground out there that holds some fish....it's all about reward for effort.

If you're heading out from Mandurah, then around the five fathom bank and beyond should produce similar results....anchoring and berleying is a good start.

May I also suggest that you fill in your profile so members get a better understanding of your fishing/boating interests.

regards
rusty...
