Help with Furuno FCV6000L sounder
Hi all, just after a bit of help with my furuno 600.
I recentyl had the screen go black, and sent it off to furuno, which they were able to repair.
But, since getting it back, it doesnt seem to be working properly. It reads like Im in about 5m of water the whole time (its about a 8 inch long screeen and theres a small gap of about an inch of blue at the top of the screen, followed by the usual yellow/green etc strip of "bottom" and the rest of the screen is solid red) and while the image scrolls across the screen, I dont think it is actually reading the bottom or water column.
Ive tried clearing and resetting the settings etc as per the manual, but this doesnt do anything to fix the issue. Dont think it has anything to do with the range (Ive tried to adjust it and while the numbers get deeper, the size and position of the "water" and the red solid "ground" stays in the same proportions?
Im still pretty new to this sounder (as you can tell!), am I missing something obivous in the settings? or is the thing stuffed?
Any help from the experts would be greatly appreciated!

starting at the beginning-
1/ its not in Demo mode is it?
2/ Ring the mob that repaired it and have a yarn with them. It certainly sounds like a gain, range or clutter setting but if you say youve changed them to no effect then it cant be?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.
