Have you got DOT Direct account Johnny? You can manage all your car, boat, trailer, mooring registrations and fishing licenses on there. Set up reminders also. Its a great system
To renew. New system is absolutely crap. Old system simple. On the phone or tablet. Freezers on address. Details already there wtf. I drove to freo for mine . Mine wouldn’t except payment. Another win win system in place.
Mine was overdue so i had to apply for a new one.
Had no issues, went to the site, followed the directions and went through it in about 3 mins.
Maybe as swompa has said, replace not Renew.

you can do everything except transfer a boat, you can transfer the trailer but still need to do manual paperwork for the boat

Renewal due
Just applied for and got two licences on new system, no problem went straight through,
Reading issues others are having I guess I must have been lucky,
My renewal said simply to apply for a new licence instead of renewing old licence as the systems aren't in place until next year to renew online.

Adressing the issue?
I did both ours a few days ago , and yeah go for new lic not renew .
However it always questions me about my address saying it doesnt compute, so I chose a second line , same address but configured different.
Maybe check any paper work you have from D.O.T and try entering address excactly as it shows on paper work.
But failing that , DOT have already admitted it has major glitchs in this new system , so im frankly surprised mine worked.
Call the helpline number and sort them out Jonny, As I always say to my girls , if your not yelling at them , your not getting a result most times.

Pretty sure the instructions for with the renewal say to create an account and replace though my wifey did that for me.

Cray Licence.
Just renewed my over the phone. Call Fisheries in Mandurah. Easy to deal with and competent. New system is crap.
