Help Please. Need Hydrive bleeding hose/bottle/nipple
Submitted by Grumpysmurf on Wed, 2014-08-27 11:46
I am hoping someone has installed a Hydrive hydraulic steering recently and still have the refill / bleeding kit (bottle cap with clear hose and nipple etc) lying around.
I need to bleed mine and cannot find the kit.

Helm end - need the nipple
Helm end - need the nipple which screws into the refill port and plug the hose into.

I did mine recently and used a funnel which I jammed into the refill hole. It worked ok without spilling too much.
The trick is to turn the wheel quickly to get all the air out the lines, while still keeping the funnel topped up.

my one (Seastar I think) is just a bsp thread. Take the plug to a bolt shop and should be able to get a hosetail for a couple of bucks.

Different size tube
Is available at Clark Rubber or Whitworths can't remember which but I think Clark Rubber, and I just bought about a foot of each size, one fits perfectly in the helm hole, drill a hole in a plastic bottle cap and wedge the other end in. Put the fluid in the bottle and turn upside down, you then have a perfect filler for the helm.
