High Beam on Prado is very good estimate 100-150mtrs so looking for spot only so I can have slight offset either side of the road.

converted

Mon, 2013-05-20 12:45

Depends what you want to spend, but conversions are great and half the price.  I bought the 4200K version of these for my Prado and love them http://www.ozautoelectrics.com/hid-converted-ipf-900-xs-driving-lights-2-lights.html  Good service too.  IPF factory HIDs sell for that price each, not a pair.  I looked at the option of doing my own conversion, but the difference in price was not worth the hassle.  These are awesome because they have the internal ballast.  I have a spot and a spread - just have to look away from the road signs ...

Try LED

Mon, 2013-05-20 17:01

Hi Iceman,
I have the same HID but in 5" and I found they are good lights and a huge upgrade over standard headlights on the Prado. I found that the HID were to direct and it looked like I had to light beams dancing down the highway and didn't give me much out to the sides to spot the roos and emus. I just found a boat in QLD and decided to drive and get it around Christmas and was worried about driving across the nullabor non stop. I decided to add a LED Lightbar to the setup and it was the best insurance. The LED lit up the road so well I couldn't even see my HIDs. The best part was I had useable light right out to the sides. This is where most of the stuff you want to see comes from. The light was very easy to drive with but you still get massive throw back from signs but that is what the signs are designed for. The Bar I bought was 32" with 60 x 3w and it fits on the sovereign bar on the 120. Great bit of kit and more than happy with it. Technology has just taken another step after HID.

Reflector

Tue, 2013-05-21 21:09

I would be concerned about the quality of the lense reflector and the small pin through the mounting bracket when 4x4 or track corrigations , they have a reasonable mount bolt but the small pin on the cross member would be a concern IMO
