Hopeless fisherman finally has some luck

Hey guys i did a post before about a trip to busselton i took to do some fishing but didnt really have much luck.

well i headed out again to Quinns dog beach Beach last Saturday night and i finally had some luck....sortof.  Whithin about 5-10 mins of my first cast i got onto a decent sized octopus, i brought that in and the mate i was fishing with chopped it up to use as bait and on his first cast using it he caught a Leopard Shark (i dont know a lot about sharks but that is what he said it was) we chucked it back though as it was only a little one but at least i have finally caught something worth while.

spewing i didnt have my camera with me but didnt expect to catch anything.  Does anybody else use this spot, and if so what do you tend to get down there?

I dont fish around quinns much mate but the times I have we just got chopper tailor. Glad you got onto some fish! Can you describe the shark at all. I havent heard of leapard sharks around perth but then theres plenty I havent heard of lol. Was it perhaps a wobbiegong or port jackson? Maybe have a look on google or something...

I think the recipe I used first came from somewhere on fishwrecked. These days though its generally just a random mix of chillis, garlic, brown and white vinegar with some olive oil depending whats in the house lol. Cant really go wrong i reckon

Shark ID

Ok i have had a look in google images and im still not 100% it kinda looked like a mix between a leopard shark and a wobbiegong, it had the 2 feeler things sticking out from the front of its face but the colours and pattern on it didnt really match up with any of the pictures of the wobbiegongs, though the pics of the leopard sharks i saw didnt have the feelers so im not sure.  Definatly not a part jackson because last time my mate went fishing at pipidinny he caught one there and we got photos of it.  I've learnt my lesson about not taking a camera fishing thats for sure!  I guess if i had to go with one i would probably say a wobbiegong.
