How busy is your local ramp during the ban?

Lancelin has been dead hardly any visiting boats, shows just how big a hit it is for small country towns.

not ramp related but we were
not ramp related but we were trolling west end and beyond on Saturday and Sunday - i would say both days were textbook dead flat little swell and it was really weird not seeing many other boats out!

Do any good? The slow start
Do any good? The slow start to the pelagic season is not helping either. A lot of local boats were trolling at the start of the ban, but with not much to show for it most are just sitting back and waiting now.
Our local club struggling to get enough boats to hold a comp. We have one scheduled Saturday, hopefully we can get the numbers to go this time.

mate of mine got a nice size Wahoo just off the west end - quite surprising as they are usually in much deeper water

Nice, I lost one out of
Nice, I lost one out of Lancelin in only 20m. Something that still pains me everytime I think about it still . It was a massive fish probably around the 30kgs, after an epic fight I had it at gaff range was nearly to put the gaff in one last lunge under the boat, I had a clip on the lure it must have been chewing on the clip, fish swam off with the lure, the clip had opened up.

My first trip out last week
My first trip out last week in a few months, finally getting on top of a few motor issues.
Was late Sunday arvo but still evident of cars down the back end of the carpark telling me it was a busy day early.. Cockburn

Went out from Hillarys
Went out from Hillarys Sunday morning about 7am, ramp was busy but not manic. Upon return at about 10 it was busy and the car park almost full. I think if the ban wasn't on it would have been overflowing !

Windy Harbour
My local is getting absolutely smashed with the freezer fillers coming down to catch south coast limits. Something has to change soon to look after the place! The only thing that helps is the boatramp and the constant bogging of their vehicles, I would hate to buy them as most get filled with water.

Absolutely. It's just shifted the effort.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Haa sounds like what it used
Haa sounds like what it used to be like here, have not seen a good sunken 4wd for a while. People need to do a little homework the method is different to a concrete ramp. You cringe after they get pulled out and open the door, when the water fall comes out.

The cut
The cut had fair few, but most were in estuary which is normal, only saw two other boats outside which turned out to be a nice day on water.
fisheries were at ramp, only not compliance but what they told me was research, first time in over 4 decades that I have ever had fisheries research approach me, apart from what did you catch, how fat out, was how many times have you been fishing in last 12 months, well mate not as much as would normally, oh why? Really, because someone shut down the Demersal season, oh well that's not us that's compliance we're research

Margaret River is dead
Been out a couple of days where otherwise it would have been packed out at 5am (weekend, flat, no wind), and now even at 8am there are heaps of parking spots.
Not sure whether the new rules are good or bad for here, I've been potting for crays and trolling for tuna. We'll see how the dhuies get slain when the ban lifts.

bent street
bent street at safety bay was full last weekend had to park on the road side about 300 meters from the ramp. Not much parking to start with but usually you can get a space.
