How Come no Nic Nat?

How come Nic Nat didn't get picked for the up coming state of origin match?
Not a month ago he said he was raring to play but now a no show. The news tonight says he is in sparkling form so maybe the club says he is too valuable to risk in a fund raising game for the bushfire victims.
Strange that their cross town rivals allow the two best players to play and same goes for the teams from the rest of the competition.

I don't understand the AFL thinking with the state of origin.
Not easy but even one game a year on rotation...WA / VIC / SA
The best team should be pick with every man itching to represent there state like with the rugby league...Not AFL, wouldn't want to get injured etc...FFS

and there are so many talented, experienced non-vic plaers nowdays... that the Vics probably wouldnt win....... hence.... no State Of Origin....

John the reason he didn't get picked is he isn't good enough (listen to the Eagle supporters now)
The guy has played very little football in the last couple of years so it is simple really, in his prime and fit he would have been one of the first picked.
However can't believe the Eagles refused to let Shuey and Gaff play, I think they are trying to protect what they believe to be assets.
No disrespect to the two players they have allowed to play, however certainly not the best Eagles available, so not in the spirit of the game really.

The bloke’s played about 8 games in the last 4 years so we’d like to try and get a few out of him this year without risking getting injured in a made up side. According to you blokes he’s no good anyway so no loss to the Allies or All Stars or whatever name they’re going by.

State of origin is just a side show now so wouldn't risk too much if I ran any of the clubs and my guess is the organisers gave a list of who they wanted to suit the best positions for the team.

I think the main point here
I think the main point here is how the state of origin is so strong for NRL but not even considered in afl to be fair NRL really only operates in 2 states so it makes it alot easier.

Waste of time.
It's only a money making excersize. Why put your players at risk so close to the start of the season, there are enough players getting injuries during training and intraclub games.
Bring on the real season.....

Didn't get to see it and still don't know the actual result other than the comments on here that the Vics won. Was travelling south to Gero and when we got to the house here tv had turned its heels up and karked it. Not going to get another replacement till we are on our way back from a break down south.
