How did everyone go today

Talking to sandy earlier and she was saying there was hardly any wind down in mandurah. Just a bit jealous being stuck 400clicks from the ocean.
Interested to see how many got out there and how they went.

Apparently there's no fishing allowed on mother's day!
I tried to use the whole 'you're not my mother' thing but that didn't work. Surely 9 year old twins can make coffee and bacon without my help!
I was out all day yesterday and battled 6 foot whalers out deep but didn't find an edible keeper. Gave some geezers in a 35 Bertram that scoured the ocean to find the one boat within eye sight that set up on my drift line the evil eye.

I had the same thing in Geo Bay on Wed.... fishing for squid!! Not another boat with 2 miles and two silly old buggers saw that I'd hit a purple patch and after 30 mins of catching nothing decided to drop right on in on my drift.

That realy sux. Thats where im lucky. Sandy will fish any time the weather is good.
Gotta hate them boats that come onto your drift. Bad enough when they come within ear shot.

..we had a good day out..
My wife asked to go fishing for mother's day..
after i cooked her brekky, we had a great day out - a little more windy than originally forecasted on Sunday; but still fishable
I tried off Hillarys for the first time - we eventally found a great spot where the wife and kids had a great time catching a heap of sand whiting.....which i spent a lot of time cleaning (need to get some tips getting better on this, mehtinks)
the whiting were really on the bite and it was non stop action for them ; perfect !
sadly no KG; but fresh whiting cooked up is always welcome, and with such a good day out getting out next time will be easy peasy

Get yourself a scaling bag
Get yourself a scaling bag and if you don’t fillet them slice the gut cavity open before putting them in the scaling bag. This will help quicken up the process.

It all comes down to . It
It all comes down to . It dont matter what you catch or dont catch. A day on the water away from it all is meant to be relaxing and getting a feed is a bonus.

Dead right
main thing for me is that the family had a great day out - getting the fish was a bonus; better yet as they (the fish) went manic when they were on the chew making for a memorable session.
the scaler bag worked great; i’m thinking about running one inside another as i have read elsewhere

Depends on the bag you get.
Depends on the bag you get. I had a look at the ones at a couple of chain stores and ended up at tuckeys in mandurah. Paid a touch more but better quality .

I use an onion bag inside the scaler bag, works so much better.
