Either that, or go to Oceanside, a site sponser. Honsu usually services all my gear!

have a go yourself, they aren't that difficult. Clean and thorough lube is about it unless a bearing has gone.

A bait runner will be anywhere from $45-80 plus parts. They are a bit more complicated than your average spinning reel.

For 10 bucks you would have

For 10 bucks you would have to question what was actually done to the reel to call it a service would you not. Any business person, regardless of offering discounts and special deals to forum members must still run at a profit, otherwise they go under! $10 would give you approximately 10mins of time I would have thought. In that time what would you get above them removing the spool, a quick wipe and apply some lube? All of which we can all do at home. Now I have no interest in having a crack at Bluewater or whoever/wherever you get your gear serviced, I just reckon customers should know what they are getting so they can be sure their gear is going to get maximum longevity.

Haha pretty much!

Open it up, run it under tap to get the sand out, put the side plate back on ;)

If there is a guy with more knowledge on a large variety of reels than Chinny I'm yet to meet him. I'd be heading to Oceanside for sure.

Chinny is dodgy, you got to

Mon, 2011-05-23 09:07

Chinny is dodgy, you got to watch him when he has been out on the sauce and puts all that KFC fat into the bearings....lol

only kidding, Honsu is one of the best in Town and few can match his knowledge on drags and bearings in reels.
