Not just there

Got a phone call this morning from a bloke who has picked up a heap of gear off the northern end of Miaboolia beach , seems as though a few boat went A over heard up near the Blowholes yesterday spilling them and their gear in the drink

We, Carnarvon sea rescue didn't get a call out for any of them but had one for a call out Sunday night up that way for a flare sighting. The boys searched for 3 hours with no success before returning round 2300. Got a call from the police at 0900 in the morning informing that the boat had set off a flare and another boat from the Blowholes had got out and picked him up, seems the police didn't send a car up until morning to investigate instead of doing so as soon as the report came through.

Palm Beach

The boat at Palm Beach ended up on the beach after being anchored too close to shore last night on an offsore breeze.  When the wind swung 180 degrees to create an onshore chop, she beached.  It was then rolled by the sea rescue as they were trying to tow it off the beach.  The sea rescue volunteers have my utmost respect, but from a first hand report, it seems they were a bit gung ho and got this one very wrong.
