damn norwest blowie

Sun, 2009-11-22 20:02

unfortunately it was almost the biggest thing I caught for the day - stupid shark(s) taking my big sambo....

And as a side note, accurate reels - bloody awesome! Anyone wanting a small, light ballsy overhead, put them into consideration.

I loved it

first bit of serious hurt I have put on it and even with the drag cranked hard it was smooth as silk. If I need another overhead, thats where i will be looking.

Damo

Mon, 2009-11-23 15:52

all I caught was a NW blowie, a few rats and when I did hook something solid, the guy in the grey suit made short work of it and doubled my rod over good!

If they were handing out prizes yesterday, I got 4th..........out of 4. Wasn't through lack of trying mind you. Just one of those days were everyone around you is catching them, and you feel like you have a "dont take my lure" neon sign on your jig.

yes it was hard work yesterday

Mon, 2009-11-23 17:02

Threw everything at them but boating that one bream was worth it...

reinforced that we were doing the right thing, just gota put the hard work in!

days like that make you think hard and it can only result in one thing.....thats becoming a better fisherman.

Making it Happen

Tue, 2009-11-24 20:13

I reckon confidence plays a big part in fishing success damo.

That bream finally came about because you kept working hard and tried tactics that you had success with before.

I've had plenty of days were you start second guessing yourself, but eventually hard work, persistance and having confidence in your techniques eventually pay off. These have been some of my most satisfying days to be honest.

Lots of crew take the easy way out and say the whole days gonna be shite and thus use it as an excuse to give up or try outlandish rigs/tactics that would probably not even work when the fishing is going off like a cracker.

Making it happen, is my personal mantra on the quiet days.

On the flipside though, I've had a few shockers like Huggy B's day where is just isn't going to happen no matter what you do.

getting a fish to the boat is a bonus John

Tue, 2009-11-24 20:29

beautiful day on the water and one thing I like about the Blackwood is you have to think!

definitely had some sweet days with plenty of fish but I really enjoy the mental challenge fishing produces

had plenty of days were the bream just come and look while others gently mouth the lure.

certainly intreging species of fish

Sadly Daz

it did take a bit of drag initially. I think only through sheer water pressure of being foul hooked....LOL

catching the damn blowie, or being forced to pose for pictures with it........

And yeah, first serious workout for the Accurate and it was sweet as. Wouldn't mind another one to be honest, just need to find a justifiable spot in the lineup........
