Even with a 50cm long tom all folded up in its guts, this 110 cm bull dolphinfish still had to have a go at hlokk's(Matt) soft plastic...

Long Toms
funnily enough, they arent too bad!
A few years ago on a trip up to Steep/False with my brother that dragged out as long as we could, we got to eating long toms and they were pretty good eating, as good as tailor or anything.
But when I cleaned another after a couple of days for lunch it was CHOCKA with worms thru meat and everywhere.
Put us off after that....

We catch heaps of them,(Long Toms) average size around a meter in length, when we are trying to catch whiting.... good fun when they are skipping across the surface on their tails!!!!
Never tried eating one though!!! Always let it go... due to the thought it would be way too bony!!!
