insulation question (icebox)

Silly season silly question time
My boat has a built in icebox/livewell in the cockpit - it sits (drops in to) in a moulded section of the bulkhead and as such has a gap around it (between the box and the fibreglass bulkhead moulding 50ish mm) it is under the rear shade and rarely gets sun but will only hold ice for about a day - my question - would filling the void (i can get to it from underneath) with expanding foam ex bunnings help? - i assume it would but given once its done it would be a nightmare to remove - thought i would ask the experts :-)
cheers

thanks mate -very festive of you :-)
my challenge is despite the box being a drop in- it has been glassed or epoxied in and i only have access from below - options are to
1) drill holes in top and drop foam down
2) try and expanding foam from bottom
3) use it as a rubbish bin and buy another yeti :-)

Reno time!.
Chop it out with a 1mm cutting disc on a grinder, Fibreglass some foam sheets to the outer and underside of the box and you're good to go.
