Issue with my Lowrance HDS12

 Hi, I have a Lowrance HDS 12 which has been wroking fine but last few times out on the chart section it just shows the boat symbol on a white screen it produces a trail but does not show any chart at all? not sure if I have pushed a wrong button on the screen, any help appreciated, Kelvin

Just wondering have you zoomed all the way in? Can you zoom out?

Second thought , is there any corrosion  on the chart card or the card reader area?have heard salt water can get in and cause this issue.

 One time on a small Lowrance I lost my chart detail . Fixed it by cleaning the gold contacts on the back of the Navionics card by first  giving it a clean using a pencil rubber, then a wipe with one of those eyeglass wipes that I think have ethanol or isopropal ehtanol in them. Popped it back in and everything came back. That card had been in there untouched for a few years, so must have got a little dirty with salt or something.Might be worth a go if the tips above don't fix it.

 If you cant find out what you have done go into the menu and press reset to factory settings. That will put the plotter back where it started. Ive done it a few times believe me. You wont lose your waypoints.

 Sounds like you have zoomed all the way in. I would try zooming out before removing the card.
