ITS ABOUT TIME!!!
After reading recently about a lot of people reading posts for info but not contributing much i realised i was one of them.. Been a member for quite a while now and havent really posted much.......so here is me going to make a better effort to contribute starting with this post...
I personlly find that winter is much better for landbased fishing.....colder also but definately better for us. So coming into when we get most of our better landbased fish now..
Me and a few mates have been chasing Mulloway for years with some but not huge amounts of success but last year we nailed quite a few good ones.. Im not sure if we are getting better or finally being rewarded for the time spent chasing these elusive fish... But we dont solely chase them, we go fishing a whole lot basicly for everything (shore and boat)..
So I thought tonight while im sitting at home doing not much i would throw up a few photos from last years winter for those who are interested and hope that i can continue to add something to this forum in the future....
Cheers and Enjoy Belly...
Starting with ESHED : The Bait, The Result and the By Catch
The next 3 are Marina Sambo Popping.... Many many hooked only 2 landed in a quick morning sesh... (dont mind the no fishing sign in the back ground)
Moving on to the Beach Mullys and a gummy bycatch. (south wedge but north lano)
Ballooned Mack from Wagoe
River Mully (edgeing towards summer)
And Finally............ The Fish my mate caught tonight..... bastard while im stuck at home (south wedge but north lano)
Hopefully signs of another great season..

Excellent
Sambo's on poppers, not something we've seen a lot of on here. Well done!

some great fish off the shore
some great fish off the shore mate. Love the topwater sambos!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Thanks for the comments all... We had some average footage of the sambos but got lost somewhere some how.. It was amazing watching them chase the stickbaits like a group of hungry GTs....
Hopefully we can hit em again this year and ill try my best to get some footage...

Top post, Im sure iv seen you at the sheds, the ears ringa bell lol. Geez man, some great captures and pics, top work, you got some good fisho knowledge to be pullin a few big fish like that, those sambos are a task and a half off the rocks I bet!
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Not bad
eating those sambo's well for the neighbours our two dogs loved sambo curry hahahaha Nice to read your report and damn good catches. Never caught a sambo, old fart has, 36kg way out back of Rotto, thank god for the Alvey winch, otherwise I think he would have been buggered bringing it in on a rod hahahah, excellent effect.

Cheers agian guys...
Yeh Tim used to hit the sheds a bit but not much anymore tend to focus more on beach fishing.. The Sambos were a serious challenge from the marina, so many pilons and boats for them to get ya on.. Hence me not getting one, my mates got lucky...
Marina: They were caught in two rocks but they are only there when the baitfish are there and it happens very rearly, right place at the right time.. All the other marinas have them at times also...
Eating wise, well all except the 2 fish from the sheds and the Mac were released.. Catching and releasing a big Mulloway for the beach is an amazing feeling.. Plus we boat fish also so tend to mainly eat dhus and baldies...
Cheers Belly....

WOW!
Amazing fish mate
Ive heard a bit about these marina sambos, but amazed to see one caught on a stick bait!!!! A nice pinky from eshed too.
Those daytime caught fish (sambo, mulla and snapper in particular), roughly what time of day are they being caught?

Time
Sambos were early morning..
Eshed fish were middle of the day no tide change or anything, just lucky i guess..
Daytime beach mully was on tide change.
IN my opinion you can always increase your chances by fishing tide changes, espeshly if they are on dusk or dawn..
