IT'S HERE

I finely bit the bullet and towed my boat up from Perth to Tom Vegas with two of my mates, Also a two day stop off in Onslow. It all went pretty good apart from losing two mud guards off the trailer and getting a $150 fine for speeding through Dongara. (Stupid me 78 in a 60 zone as you first come in to town.)

We left Jane Brook (Midland) Thursday the 12th at about 3:30pm and arrived in Onslow Friday the 13th at 5:00am. We sat at the shell station until it opened, We filled the boat up and headed to the caravan park to get a camp site, then strate to the boat ramp and took off.Headed for Mangrove Island it took us a little while to get there being the first time boating in Onslow but it was worth it, 3 nice size coral trout, 2 red throat, 1 blue bone, 2 mangrove jacks, one big GT, a heap of different mackle and 5 of the biggest squid I have ever seen.

Day two, We got up at the crack of dawn after a big night on the piss, filled up and started to head back to the same ground we fished on day one, but the wind was not on our side, so we look around for some ground but to no luck. We turn around and came back in to the river which was a lot of fun, one trevally after the other, then the queen's come on also a heap of cod. We didn't keep any fish that day but when the sun started to go down we drop the crab pots.
We ended up with 8 monster mud crabs.

We left Onslow at 4:00am sunday the 15th to drive to Tom Price, due to the fuel station closing at 1 pm in Onslow we couldn't fill up the night before so we got to Nanutarra roadhouse where we had wait until it opened. Let me tell you about that place, them w****kers should of been wherein balaclavas,THAT PLACE IS DAY LIGHT ROBBERY. Finely got to Tom Price (watch out for the moo cows)and drop the boat off then turn around and head back to Perth. Arrived in Perth at 1am Monday the 16th a hole 21 hours later to say a good buy to the missus and jump on a plane at 4am to fly strate back up for work.(By the way the missus has only just started to talk to me now)

WHAT A WEEKEND. Sorry about having no photo's on this little story but in the mad rush of flying back up I left the camera on the bench at home so I will add them in next week.
If anyone see a black 5.4m pacemaker with derelict down the side from Onslow to Port Headland don't be shy say G'DAY.

Thanks for the report greeny, sounds like you had some mixed experiences - good and bad, at least you got into some queenies and cods, and those crabs! Busy end too, with the fly out. Glad your wife's talking to you LOL.

lived and worked in Paraburdoo for 13 odd years so I can see why you have the boat up there. Nice boat the Pacemaker, I have the pacemaker ensign 200 (20 ft). Those boats have the best and driest ride. Have you had the pacy long? tell us abit about it mate. Not many of these rigs around. Youve got Coral bay and Exmouth just down the road too, lucky bugger.
