Hi Guys
I'm heading over to japan on a snow boarding holiday in the next couple of weeks, I will be in Tokyo for about 5 days before we head up the mountain,
Has anyone been over there and found some good tackle shops worth having a look at? I know there pretty mad about fishing so I'm sure there will be some good ones around.
any info will be appreciated

Shibuya is a good spot to
Shibuya is a good spot to have a look, also where the busiest intersection is. There are 3 tackle stores right next to the train station so very easy to get to and find.
Have a read of that link above

I was over there a couple of
I was over there a couple of months ago and went to JSY in Shibuya; it's definately worth a visit. You've got to go up this skanky lift to get there but then there are three (smallish) floors with a solid range of different fishing gear. We didn't find it too difficult to locate; probably the hardest thing was working out the right exit from the station. I used the instructions that Paul's posted too so save them on your phone or something because they work well enough. The only other joint I went to was 1ban in Osaka, that place was jig heaven but it's a bit out of the way from Tokyo, and it was hard as hell to find.
The intersection in Shibuya is also worth checking out while you're there like Paul said, it's pretty mental.
If you're heading over with a few mates and you head to Shinjuku at night try and get to Golden Gai; it's this tripped out area with a stupid amount of bars that all hold around 5 people (there are a few larger ones in there). There are plenty of English-friendly places there which are a cool way to get a good local culture hit.

We are staying around at area
We are staying around at area so I will differently go have a look at JSY in shibuya.
Yep there is a group of 6 lads going on the trip so we will have to go check out Shinjuku, I have heard of some pretty crazy night life spots over there, did you guys find it a bit pricey? for food, beer and tackle or not to bad?
thanks for the posts

Wasn't too bad
When we were there last year accommodation was expensive for what you got but food and bevvies were as cheap or as expensive as you wanted to pay (had a Kobe Beef 5 course dinner for about $150 a head through to surprisingly good soba noodles and dipping sauce for $3 from 7Eleven). Download the Tokyo Subway Navigation app for your phone, made life a lot easier.
Tackle was cheap. I picked up a handful of bent minnows for about $12 each and a 4000SWB Stella was about $700. The coolest thing about the whole experience though was all the crazy lures and crap they had.

No, found it pretty
No, found it pretty reasonable all round - we used AirBnB for accom and found a great place at a good price so no complaints there, 7-11 / Lawson type convenience stores have everything including decent food and good cheap beers (7-11 are the pick of the bunch); outside of that we ate wherever there were picture boards and they all have prices... and there are so many places to eat you can choose based on price. Some of the ramen bars we ate at were cheap as chips and we ate like kings. I didn't buy any fishing gear so can't comment there; definately agree with the ninja above re the different fishing gear they've got, it's a trip checking out the unusual stuff they use.
