jig rod and reel recommendations for a 3 kings enchanter trip

Need some help selecting a rod and reel for the trip was thinking 18000 stella matched up with a x12 temple reef rod but the problem is I have never held or seen a temple reef in person so I am only selecting a rod from what I have read has any one got any recommendations

hi mate,  I think 18k is high speed,  20kswpg may be more suitable? I went for a saltiga 6500 for the same trip (coming up in feb) also searching for a rod so will be watching this thread!  X12 is on my list, but yet to hold one.  Other one I was considering was JM three kings special 53sh. I looked at a valley hill Exploder,  it has a fast action and felt a bit brutal. Looking for something more parabolic.

Will be looking forward to your report mate I go the first week of march. From what I have heard and read the x12 seems to be a good choice but just cant bring my self to buy it with out seeing it, same thing with jm there just isnt anywhere in karratha that stocks this quality of gear is there somewhere in perth that sells this stuff?

I believe tackle hq in perth stock the X12 and I think oceanside tackle stock JM gear. Compleat Angler Nedlands also have a good range.

You know you want to - email graeme and get a custom, put a pe6 overhead on it or SOM 120 and hang on - then you have a brutal outfit for up north as well
