Jigging Master vs Hearty Rise - Stella vs OceaJigger

Me and Tim went head to head on a few donkey samson fish to test the limits of our PE3 outfits........

Me with a Hearty Rise Jigforce PE1.5-3 with Simano OceaJigger with carbontex upgrade drag running PE3 Daiwa boat braid. Nice bend.

Tim with the absolutely awesome Jigging Master Fallings PE1.5-4 with Stella 6000PG running PE3 Daiwa boat braid. Check out the bend with high stick Harry. That is one serious rod!

The result. A draw.

Yep - I'd hand that win to John's sambo too!

Now that JM rod is what you call seriously parabolic

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

I noticed that. I thought the fallings was a fast taper rod? They even say so in the specs. Anyone got any bendo pics of a three kings special? I thought they were faster taper as well but not as fast as the fallings. What drag were you running?

Yep, John's could have eaten mine for dinner!

Bunny - I  ran as much drag as I thought the boat braid would handle, likely around the 8-10kg mark.

I've got a 3 kings 53M and have never really loaded it up, going to Vanuatu in 2 weeks so hopefully I can hook onto a dogtooth to test it out!

Looks like you could feel the bend in the foregrip. That's a lot of drag for the UL!

any chance you could do me a favour? I wouldn't mind knowing the rod weight? I'm guessing less than 200 grams but would be keen to find out.

In hindsight probably a little bit too much drag, though had just lost a shout slide actor and didn't want to lose another one!

Yep no probs, will chuck it on the kitchen scales tonight when I get home.
