Gday all
Heading to Jurien bay in a few weeks. First time fishing out of there, we'll have two 6.5M boats together
Could anyone point me in the direction of some rough areas? Happy to sound my own lumps, but some general direction would be great.
Are any mackie's been caught at the moment?

i have only really fished
i have only really fished twice up there, but once we headed out to the direction bank we started getting good fish. lots of broken ground that pops up out there. we were in a 6.4m boat, so if conditions ok you guys should be fine to get out there, but the swell does get pretty big.

Use the search function
Use the search function in the left hand column.....there is loads of info about Jurien on this site. Take care if you are a first timer, especially if using the South Passage. The reefs break well west of the passage markers on both sides of the passage and it can be tricky coming back in on a seabreeze when you are looking at the backs of the waves. Safest to usethe north passage until you know the area.

You don't have to travel far
You don't have to travel far at this time of year to get good fish in Jurien. Head NW out North passage past Favorite Island. Once you reach 20 -25 meters, sound for ground heading north towards North Head. Have caught good Dhuey's and Baldies all through here in April, with the odd snapper thrown in.
