Jurien Bay Diving

Hi Fellas,

I'm heading up to jurien with some mates for easter.  Taking the boat up so hoping to do some diving and fishing.

This will be our first time up there (hopefully one of many too come!).  Can anyone point us in the right direction for some good dive ground?

I'll be picking up a nautical map during the week, so just some general area info would be good.

cheers

Wayne

Just zoom your sounder - more ledges and drop offs than you can poke a stick at in a 100 years of diving - should be mackies around close in as well

I found to the north of favourite was the best for diving, there is some pretty heavy reef which is good for spearing but not so much fishing, i'd try finding an isolated lump out the back of the islands in like 30m

have a look at this vid, just to get you gggggd up

if it's blowing up, can you usually take cover inside the reefs?

"THE GERMAN" - that fishermans island looks the go - do ya still launch from jurien, or would it be better launching out of green head?

launch from green head but theres no reason why you couldnt just drive up from jurien the ground doesnt seem as hammered compared to the areas in front of jurien!

plenty of ground behind

plenty of ground behind boullanger island. you can see the reef outline around 2kms past the island. had plenty of success in that area fishing.

goodluck. watch out for white sharks
