its like a clip thing that are on outriggers to hold the line so the reel can be in freespool to give line to the kingies.. once fish grabs it line releases and is in total freespool! good show aye wish we got as many kingies over here as they do

the only problem with that show is they just seem to catch YTK and the odd shark , mind you the shows presenters offsider "Nathan" looks like he could pull the pick with out breaking into a sweat Ha Ha

They do clean up on YTK's... Don't think I'd get sick of that! Especially that ep where they got a triple hook up (with 2 people) in 1.5m of water near the sandbar on live baits.

nothing wrong with ifish, they just show lots of repeats now with the odd new episode on weekends. I've seen most of them so it's good to see a fishing show I've never watched! From what I've seen from big angry fish they go for snapper/YTK mostly, but also salmon and sharks (haven't seen anything else though). I think it's just good to have some variety so good on One for putting it on as well as Robson Green, ET's Fishing Classics and Big Fish, Small boats!

if its a NZ based show there isnt much more to target from a sporting point of view unless you get into game fishing or deep drop.

Looks like they travel around the world going by their photo albums. They are now into the second season over there and trying to come up with new ideas and more places to visit. Kept in mind that New Zealand don't have as many fish species as Australia, so I guess they are limited to a wide variety that these coastlines possess.
Fishing isn't a sport.....it's an institution.

Think that was what was said on the first show - some of the snapper boiling behind the boat episodes are very special but why cant we buy those bl;oody great frozen berley blocks over here

Berley bombs
At one time Campbell's in Leederville stocked frozen berley bombs. I think they were around 10kg each. You might want to check it out.

considering the three main targets are 'Kungies', Bronzies and Snapper, they do a good job with them. Have only seen a couple of episodes but from what I understand there is a lot more variety later in the series. I never get sick of watching a school of angry hoodlums chase down a yakka trying to get away haha so cool!

must admit both the blokes on the show look pretty fit (especially that big bloke Nathan)and those YTK leave them puffing, , hate to think what a YTK would do to me as a reasonable sambo leaves me breathless on the deck, and close to having a heart attack

Big angry fish is a great
Big angry fish is a great show!! I loved ifish up until season 4 where is all became about advertising, now you would be lucky to see a fish caught by halfway through the episode. I have season 1 and 2 on dvd and when lee rainer is on the show it was soo much better.
i suppose when you are starting up a new show you need to be able to impress and they certainly did in them two seasons.

Agreed, best fisho show on free to air.
Awesome how they get out of the boat to land all of there big sharks on the beaches.
the latest episode, big snapper in knee deep water on the mangroves was unreal...
