Just wondering,

Does anyone reckon you could use lollies instead of soft plastics ?
Thinking like snakes and other gummy style lollies as you can get more in a bag for less than most SP's, haha.
I thought about it because I reckon you could find some good coloured ones that may attract fish. Cheers!

Wed, 2015-02-25 20:32

Used gummie bears for carp once also green grapes they loved it, but those pests eat anything. As for the river you would think that something would eat em probs grunters it would be intereting hey, probs get those sour worms so they wriggle a little more on the retrive.haha hey at the end of the session eating whats left beats chewing on a zman.

I used allens snakes before

Wed, 2015-02-25 20:55

over on a fishing charter out of the Sunshine Coast qld.

green in colour and put on a 3/4 oz jig head

hooked a yellow tail kingfish pretty quickly but there were literally hundreds of them!

So yes they would work but I would still rather use plastics, that way it gives me yet another excuse to  go to the tackle store! Hahaha

Not lollies

Wed, 2015-02-25 23:16

Havn't used lollies and find the Bream only like expensive lures and plastics .

But this is one lure i'd like to make and try. I have used bits of drinking sraws to catch Herring and Gardies but this is just plain art. I'm thinking they would make a great addition to the fly collection.

Check out the video, its 5min but well worth watching to the end .  youtu.be/RUeVvxdKtS4

Cheers Grant .

something different

I've caught hundreds of herring on ear plugs. They work a treat, particularly bright yellow or orange.
